WHO CAN SEE MY STORY?

If you are new to Instagram and never play around with your Instagram settings, by default, your Instagram Stories are public. Therefore, once you put your Stories, random people can see your stories.



However, you can keep your stories private by setting your Instagram account private. Keeping your stories private means only your followers that you added to your Instagram account can see your stories. If you want to keep your Instagram Stories private, here are the steps to do just that.

Step 1
Open your Instagram app. Go to your home screen. Tap the icon above

Step 2
Go to “Private Account”. Enable that option if you want to set your Story to be private. Private means only your followers can see your Story

CAN I SELECT THE FOLLOWERS WHO CAN SEE MY STORIES?

Yes, fortunately, you can. If you want to share with your followers your stories but not all of them, you can actually select and filter who can see your stories. This tip can be very helpful if you want to post some very silly stories of yourself in the Instagram.



However, you do not want your boss or family members that you have added as your followers to see it. Here are the steps how you can do that.

Open you Instagram. Go to your Settings. Tap the “Story Settings”

At the “Story Settings”, tap the “Hide Story From” and choose the followers you want to block

WHO CAN REPLY TO MY STORY?

By default, your followers can reply to your stories. However, you can actually choose who can reply to your story. This is extremely helpful if you have set your Instagram account as public.



This is because once you set your account as public, your story can be seen by random strangers. Therefore, to avoid being spammed by unknown people, you can set who can reply to your story. Here is how you can do that.

Step 1
Open your Instagram account and go to your settings. Tap the “Story Settings”

Step 2
At the “Story Settings”, go to the “Allow Message Replies”. You will be given four options; Everyone, People you Follow, Off the replies completely and customized who can reply base on your selection.


WHO CAN SHARE MY STORY?

Your Instagram story will only remain in your follower’s news feed for 24 hours. However, they have the option of sharing your story as a message and therefore making it permanent.



However, you can control who can share your story or you can completely disable this. Here are the steps on how you can disable or enable that option.

At the “Story Settings”, enable the “Allow Sharing” option. If you do not want people to share your story, disable the function.

Yes, unlike your normal Instagram post who you do not who is seeing unless they like or comment, with Instagram Stories, you can actually see who viewed your post. Here are the ways you can see who viewed your story.

At the bottom left, tap at the icon below to see who has viewed your story
