How to Create a Snapchat Group Chat

Snapchat have introduced the Group Chat way back in 2016 as a way for their users more option to communicate with their friends. With Snapchat group chat, you can add up to 31 friends in a group. There you can share your Snapchat stories as well as a snap that can be seen by all the Snapchat group. With group chat, any stories you share are automatically posted as Snapchat group stories where all members can add to that snapchat stories.

Snapchat group chat can be creatively used as a way for entertainment, work or even hobbyist group. You can also set a Snapchat group chat among your families or even your close friends. 

FEW THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SNAPCHAT GROUP CHAT

Before you want to start a Snapchat group chat or you want to join one, here are a few things you should know about the group chat

All chats and Snapchat group stories remain in the group for only 24 hours.

Snaps that you send in the group chat is not counted as Snapchat Streak.

If you leave a group chat, all the snaps and chats that you have shared in the group chat will be automatically cleared

Once you create a group, you could not delete the group. You can only leave the group

Once you invited a friend to the group, you cannot remove them from the group. They can only leave the group by themselves. Alternatively, another option is for you to leave the group.

HOW TO CREATE A GROUP CHAT

Step 1

Open Snapchat. Tap on the “Friends” icon below

Step 2

Tap at any of your friends that you want to add to a group chat

Step 3

At the chat box, tap at your friend’s icon above

Step 4

At your friend’s profile, tap at the three dots above

Step 5

A pop-up menu will be shown, tap the “Send Username To…” option below

Step 6

At the “Send To…” menu, tap at the “New Group” icon above

Step 7

At the friend’s directory, pick friends that you want to add to the group. You can also name the group there

Once done, tap the “Create Group” button below

Step 8

The group will be shown at your friend’s directory. Tap the group for the Group Chat

However, if you are invited to join a Snapchat group chat but you want to leave, here are the steps.

HOW TO LEAVE A GROUP CHAT

Step 1

Go to your Snapchat friend’s directory. Tap at the Group chat

Step 2

At the group chat, tap the “Group Chat” icon above

Step 3

At the Group Chat profile menu, tap the three dot icon above

Step 4

A pop-up menu will be shown, tap “Leave Group” to leave the group chat
