How to Mute and Unmute Stories on Facebook

Facebook Stories has been a recent popular update introduced by Facebook. It shows up in your Facebook feed at the top and you can scroll through all of your friend’s stories update there. However, if you have preferences and want to see stories from certain friends only, you can opt o mute the stories from friends that you do not want to see. Here we show you simple steps on how to mute and unmute stories on Facebook.

WHY MUTE STORIES ON FACEBOOK?

Here are some of the reasons why you should mute stories on Facebook:-

  1. MUTE STORIES FROM FRIENDS YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE – If you have friends that you are hesitant to remove but do not want to see any updates from, unmuting their stories might be the best way forward if you do not want to remove them as friends

Step 1

At your Facebook account, tap at Stories from the people you want to mute

Step 2

At the person’s stories, tap at the three-dot icon above

Step 3

A pop-up menu will be shown. Tap at “Mute Story” here

Step 4

Tap “Mute” to confirm. You will not see anymore stories from that particular friend on Facebook

HOW TO UNMUTE STORIES ON FACEBOOK

Step 1

 At your Facebook profile page, tap at the three-line icon below to go to your Facebook settings

Step 2

At your Facebook settings, scroll down and tap at “Settings & Privacy”

Step 3

 At” Settings & Privacy”, tap at “Settings”

Step 4

At “Settings”, scroll down and tap at “Story settings”

Step 5

At the “Stories settings”, tap at “Stories you’ve muted” here.

Step 6

Tap at “Unmute” to unmute the stories from people you have muted before. You can now able to see stories from that person again.
