Videos have been on the rise on Facebook as more and more content producers uploading video content on the Facebook platform. If you have your Facebook settings at default, any video that you scroll in your feed will start to play automatically. You do not need to press start to view the video. This is one of the ways Facebook wants you to view more content on their platform.

However, there are some advantages and disadvantages of having the Auto-play on. Here we are going to show you step by step how you can disable the function.

WHY DISABLE AUTO-PLAY?

Here are some reasons why you should disable the auto-play

  1. TO SAVE INTERNET DATA – Videos can take a lot of data from your internet plan. Therefore disabling auto-play would help you save up some of the data and only play any video that you are interested when you are on Wi-Fi mode
  2. TO SAVE PHONE BATTERY – Videos can also take up a lot of battery juice. If you do not want your phone to run out of battery power, it is better to disable the auto-play.
