How to Post on Instagram Using Computer

The original objectives of the Instagram app are for sharing photos using your mobile devices. Therefore, the Instagram app itself was developed specifically for a mobile device such as smartphones. Instagram does have its web version, but it lacks certain functionality. As of the date of this article, you still could not upload any photos or videos using the Instagram web version.

You could only upload your photos or videos using the Instagram app using your smartphone. However, there is a neat little trick on how you can overcome this. All you need to have is a computer and a chrome browser.

WHY THE NEED TO POST FROM PC?

There are many reasons people would want to post from the PC instead of using the mobile phone. Here are several reasons for this

1. Want to upload photos or videos that are stored in the PC or laptop
2. Want to save internet data – Instead of using the data plan on your mobile phone, you can save a bit by using the internet Wi-Fi through your laptop.
3. Browsing and uploading using PC are much faster compared to your mobile phone – depends on what type of mobile phone you have, sometimes your laptop is much quicker in uploading the videos or photos instead of uploading using your phone. 

So, if you are interested to learn how to post on Instagram via computer instead of your smartphone, here are the steps.

Step 1

In your PC, open Chrome browser and go to https://www.instagram.com

Step 2

Log into your Instagram account

Step 3

Anywhere in the screen, click the right button of your mouse to pull up this menu

Step 4

Click at “Inspect”

Step 5

Click at the small phone icon at the top right here

This is to change your screen from PC view to mobile view simulation

Step 6

At the screen, tap the “+” icon below to post your photos or videos

Click the “Refresh” button if you do not see the “+” button on your screen

Step 7

Browse your PC and select the photo or video you want to upload to Instagram

Click “Open” to proceed

Step 8

Select the filter that you wish for your photo or video

Once you selected the right filter, click “Next.”

Step 9

Type the description of your photo or video

Click “Share” to proceed

Your followers can now see your Instagram post

Your followers can see your Instagram post in a mobile device as well as in desktop or laptop
