What Happens When You Blocked Someone on Instagram

So, you just got annoyed by someone on Instagram. You have the option of blocking any Instagram users from following and interacting with you on Instagram. Once you blocked that person, that person will not know and will not be notified that you have blocked them.

Once blocked, that person will no longer see your Instagram post. However, if the blocked person has previously liked or comment on your previous post, you and others can still see their Instagram username there.

So, what happens when you just blocked someone on your Instagram account?

Here are five things you should know

Your Instagram username will also not be shown at the suggested list in the blocked person’s search list.

THE PERSON CAN NO LONGER SEARCH YOU

If the person you blocked try to search for your Instagram username in the search column, your Instagram username will not appear.

THE PERSON CAN STILL SEE YOUR LIKED AND COMMENT IN A PUBLIC POST

However, if you liked or commented on a profile’s post that is set to public, the blocked person can still see you have liked or commented on that post.

Unless you change your Instagram username, the blocked person can still identify you from that public post

THE PERSON WILL NO LONGER SEE ANY OF YOUR ACTIVITIES

In the blocked person Activity menu, the blocked person will no longer see any of your activities

If the blocked person mentions you in his or her post, you will not see this in your Activity menu

THE PERSON WILL NOT SEE YOUR INSTAGRAM STORIES

The blocked person will no longer able to see your Instagram stories in their Instagram story roll feed.

You also will not able to see any of the blocked person Instagram story as well

THE PERSON CAN NO LONGER DM YOU

If the blocked person has previously Direct Message (DM) you, you can still see their messages in your DM before you have blocked them

However, they can no longer DM you once you have blocked them
